Sergei Kaminskiy’s story begins in Siberia, Russia, where he was born before immigrating to the United States with his family in 1993 at just seven years old. His early years in America were shaped by the challenges of adapting to life in a new country, growing up in a cramped two-bedroom apartment near Oakland, California, where he shared a room with his two older sisters.

The constant refrain of “we cannot afford this” echoed throughout their household—a stark reminder of the financial struggles his first-generation immigrant parents faced. They worked tirelessly to provide for their family, often sacrificing their own comforts to ensure food was on the table. From a young age, Sergei helped out at the shop, absorbing the values of perseverance and resilience that would define his future.

Even in elementary school, Sergei’s entrepreneurial spirit shone through. He began selling pixie sticks to his classmates for a dollar a bundle, quickly gaining popularity among his peers. Before long, he found himself in trouble with the principal due to candy wrappers littering the playground and hallways. Rather than deter him, this incident only deepened his resolve and ambition.

At age 19, Sergei met his wife, Elena, and shortly after getting married, they opened a handyman company that would eventually become known as Handyman Service Plus. Starting in a tiny one-bedroom apartment in 2005, they would rise before dawn and distribute flyers door to door, praying that someone would call to have work done.

In 2013, Sergei expanded his business portfolio by founding Kaminskiy Commercial Construction, where he serves as President and CEO. His company’s most notable achievement includes developing an entire 37,000 square foot building from an empty shell into a state-of-the-art manufacturing, production, packaging, and office building for Nordic Naturals—the industry leader in omega-3 fish oil supplementation since 1995.

His expertise in commercial construction led to an opportunity to become a shareholder at Premier Nutra Pharma in exchange for helping develop their manufacturing plant. Through his extensive experience, Sergei played a pivotal role in developing Premier Nutra Pharma’s entire commercial kitchen and gummy production line, helping them become one of the most respected nutraceutical formulation, manufacturing, packaging, and shipping companies on the West Coast.
